FLORENCE — A San Tan Valley man has been sentenced to two years in prison after agreeing to plead guilty to aggravated assault with a sexual motivation.

According to Pinal County Superior Court records, Aaron Williams, 38, was originally charged with five counts of sexual assault, aggravated assault and preventing someone from using a telephone in an emergency in September 2019.

In October 2019, the woman who accused Williams of assaulting her pleaded with a Pinal County Superior Court judge to release him without bond, saying that she made a mistake in calling police. The judge denied her request.

Williams accepted a plea agreement in July and received credit for 305 days served in jail. He will not be required to register as a sex offender.
