APACHE JUNCTION — A San Tan Valley woman is facing charges after allegedly fleeing from officers and crashing into a cactus.
According to Pinal County Superior Court records, Marilea J. Holt, 35, is charged with unlawful flight, criminal damage and refusing to give her true name to a police officer.
At 7:36 p.m. on June 24, an Apache Junction Police officer in an unmarked vehicle attempted to pull over the vehicle Holt was driving near Cornwall Drive and Fifth Avenue for failing to stop before entering the roadway from a driveway.
Holt took off, crashed through a fence and hit a citrus tree before being stopped by a large saguaro cactus.
Officers detained Holt, who allegedly gave them a false name before giving them her real name. She also allegedly admitted to seeing the officer’s lights and sirens but said she did not stop because she thought there might be a warrant for her arrest.
