CrossRoads Church plans to give away free sneakers to children this Christmas season.

CASA GRANDE — CrossRoads Church will celebrate the Christmas season this year by giving away an estimated 1,500 pairs of tennis shoes to area children.

The shoes are intended for school-age children.

To receive a pair, parents or guardians need to visit CrossRoads Church during the Saturday 6 p.m. service or one of the Sunday services at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. or noon.

If the child’s name and shoe size is given to organizers, he or she will receive a new, name-brand pair of tennis shoes in December.

The church said the shoe give-away is “our way of sharing God’s love with the beautiful people of Casa Grande.”

Sign-up began in September and will continue through October. Distribution of shoes is scheduled to take place during the noon service on Sunday, Dec. 15.

During the special service in December, the church also plans to give away several video gaming systems.
