The Promenade at Casa Grande seems to be on the upswing after losing some stores in recent years. An important part of and gateway to Casa Grande in its decade-plus of existence, the Promenade has been hurt by some tough obstacles such as the Great Recession, health of retailing in general and movement of some stores to the edge of the Valley.
Now, new owner Lamar Companies says it is expecting three new tenants soon and having discussions with others. Temporary free rent has been offered, and existing tenants have renewed leases. An entertainment venue may come to the 40,000-square-foot former home of Sports Authority.
With housing construction up in Casa Grande and the area, all signs point to success for the Promenade, which is something Casa Grandeans seriously want.
