Rain has been welcome this week in Pinal County, but apparently well coordinated with that was the groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of a long-planned motor sports park just outside Casa Grande. Attesa was announced back in 2017 but, like many things, it was delayed for various reasons.
Principals Pat Johnson and Dan Erickson are starting with a 500-acre Podium Club member auto racetrack. The project at Interstate 8 and Bianco Road is to eventually total 2,400 acres and include more auto facilities, an RV park and residential and commercial development. It could eventually be annexed into Casa Grande, which already is nearby.
After a year of pandemic, this long-awaited project is something to be excited about.
