Editor, Casa Grande Dispatch:

I feel compelled to write this letter. I am concerned about our children. From the time they arise in the a.m. till they retire to bed, they are enveloped with violence. Think about it — violence on the TV, TV shows, TV games, movies, newspapers, music, books, etc. It's everywhere you look — violence and not just guns. There are many other forms of violence and they are learning them all — our media promote it. That's what they are learning. Is it any wonder they are turning to drugs and suicide? Yet, we just accept it as a normal way of life and do nothing.

What is at the root of all this violence? Money! People who write these shows and movies make lots of money. Be it Hollywood, writers, TV channels, it's all done with the thought of making big money! It's impossible to even watch a news broadcast without the commercials showing the coming attractions, most of which are full of some form of violence.

What can we do about it? I have no answers but I fear for our children who are bathed in this atmosphere. The almighty dollar speaks for us all and as a result, I see more violence in our country. Even in our government, we do not see any relief.
