Editor, Casa Grande Dispatch:

Again the headline in the paper is about the terrible water shortage. Solutions are to draw out the groundwater and cut off critical farm access. Science says that will leave us in an uninhabitable desert and require more importing of food.

Our local and state representatives are so focused on increasing property tax revenues they are willing to ignore the future consequences. The construction of thousands of residences at the same time they wring their hands about the future water supply is ridiculous. Everyone can see how short-sighted our leaders' proposed solutions really are.
