Editor, Casa Grande Dispatch:
At midnight on Dec. 31, my final term on the Central Arizona College District Governing Board came to a close. May I take this opportunity to thank the voters of Pinal County for the opportunity to serve the four six-year terms that I have been allowed to serve? It has been a wonderful experience for me.
During my time of service, I have had the opportunity to know and work with five college presidents. It was a privilege to know them and to work alongside them. I wish to acknowledge and personally thank our current president, Dr. Jackie Elliott. She is extremely knowledgeable and is providing exceptional leadership for Central Arizona College.
I wish to particularly thank the faculty, staff and administration, past and present, for their dedication and commitment to higher education in Pinal County. Through the years, they have performed a remarkable role. Central Arizona College would not be the gem that it is today without their dedication and service. I also wish to thank my fellow board members past and present for their excellent work and professionalism.
In my opinion, Central Arizona College, as it serves a diverse audience and meets the needs of the many people living or working in Pinal County, is truly one of the best there is. I know each of us truly appreciate the value that it brings to the people of the County. Thanks once again for the opportunity to serve.
