Editor, Casa Grande Dispatch:

What is wrong with Doug Ducey and his fellow Republicans who instinctively want the rest of us to die here in Arizona?

We are in the midst of a pandemic. If you go to the hospital, the odds then are against you in that the hospital will want to keep you. If you are kept and need a ventilator, your odds of dying increase significantly. In as short a period as one week, your obituary can be written. It's that fast.

But wait. There is a large number of people who (1) don't care if you live or die (2) feel that is their right to inflict the disease on you and (3) are just contrary enough to feel that common sense and laws don't apply to them. And there's the rub.

You don't want to get vaccinated. So don't. But don't go out in public, use an airplane, attend a school or do anything that involves other people. Same with wearing a mask. You have the right to go into the woods and die by yourself. You don't have the right to take me with you. It is only a matter of time before those of us who want to live use reasonable force against those of you who want to kill us. It should be an interesting dilemma for the courts and jurists. Just remember: Only one of us will be in the courtroom when it happens.
