Editor, Casa Grande Dispatch:
Tax cuts sure did help Middle America. As a senior citizen retiree, not the so-called rich top 1% referred to by Yvonne Esther Johnson in response to my letter, I beg to differ. I am sure there are many more like me that are happy to have more money in our pockets and I am sure the largest economic jobs boom in the history of our nation has made hundreds of thousands of people extremely happy to finally have a good-paying job. I pay less in taxes under President Trump than I ever did under President Obama! The liberals always love to bring up that “trickle down” tax cuts never affect regular folks! They always slam the rich for not paying their “fair” share of taxes. If the Democrats and liberals had their way, we would all be paying much more in taxes, resulting in fewer and fewer jobs, as there would be less and less money left over to hire new workers, as the “rich” corporations would have to pay more in taxes and less in raising the wages of their employees and expanding their businesses to provide even more jobs.
What happens when there are no more rich people left in America, having been driven out of the country by ever-rising taxes? What happens to the jobs that they could have created in this country, that go instead to places like China? We regular folks will be given the burden of paying higher and higher taxes to make up the “slack” of those rich folks no longer here! More jobs equals more income equals more taxable income equals more tax money available, all without raising taxes or taxing the rich more. It is called economics, Yvonne, something I studied in college. I remain jubilantly abnormal!
