Editor:

My wife, Caroline, and I are members of the Senior Center. We are in our early 80s.

We especially like to play bingo on Thursdays. There are absolutely no losers that play these free games every week. The prizes are fruits & vegetables, canned goods, baked goods, plants and many other things.

We live at the Florence Park Apartments and so does a mother with three children. A few days ago, she asked me to take her to the new Florence Hospital emergency room. Two of her daughters went with us and the oldest went into the emergency room with her mom. The youngest stayed with me in the waiting room, an 8-year-old third grader. She told me their family is running low on food.

When I took them back home, I told her that whatever my wife and I win will be going to them. Another member of the Senior Center is Mary, who is older than us and really very active many organizations and even with our new hospital. She heard about what we were doing and added lots of groceries that she just received to give away.

So this picture tells our story.
