As one of many Florence residents who was and continues to be against the Florence Copper mine, I would like to remind folks that the Town Council wasn't alone in opposing the mine. They were elected by the people to represent the people — many of whom were against the mine. Let's not condemn our elected officials for doing what they felt was best for the town of Florence.
The management of Florence Copper can say all they want about how much they care about the town and its residents. However, if they really cared, they certainly would not be attempting to bleed the town dry!
