Editor, Casa Grande Dispatch:
Dave White Golf Course. Wow, the golf course made the front page of the Casa Grande Dispatch! As a golfer who has played this golf course consistently (at least three times a week for the past 20 years) there is a definite disconnect here! I live in The Links, which is adjacent to the golf course, and I can honestly say if I allowed my property to deteriorate like each and every fairway on this golf course, I could expect to get a letter from the homeowners association informing me that my home is in violation and I need to correct the situation or face legal consequences!
Community Services Director Steve Hardesty was quoted as saying, "I think one of the things that we are striving to do is provide a consistent level of condition on the course, where it doesn't go up or down seasonally as much at least for the past 18 months." This guy obviously doesn't play golf, or he simply is in denial. It's always nice and green for the snowbirds; as soon as they leave the course returns to more of a resemblance to a cow pasture than a golf course. Where is the pride? This course should be a shining example of pride for the city; instead, well, check it out for yourself! Is it too much to ask to have grass in the fairways?
