Editor, Casa Grande Dispatch:
This Monday, we commemorate the brave men and women who fought for the freedoms that each of us enjoys. Many gave their all, and many came home with serious life-altering disabilities.
The state of Arizona used to provide a property tax exemption for disabled veterans. But a few years ago, a judge decided that the wording of the law was unconstitutional and therefore made void.
In the upcoming session of the Legislature, the Arizona Association of Assessors is submitting a new bill that meets the constitutional requirements needed and will restore the disability exemption for those deserving veterans.
As your Pinal County assessor and president of Arizona Association of Assessors, I urge you to contact your state representatives and ask them to support this bill, which would greatly help our deserving wounded warriors.
Douglas J. Wolf
