ELOY — Noemi Narvaez, 80, died on May 4, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Narvaez was born on April 3, 1941, to Manahen S. and Rafael Hernandez Sr. Her maternal grandparents were Jose Sanchez Sr. and Luz De La Cerda Sanchez. She was a strong matriarch and protector of her family and was devoted to them. She strived to do her best to care for, guide and teach them. She traveled to California, Tennessee and Texas to visit with her brothers and sister. She was a great friend to many.
She had many joys in life — her faith in God, her loving family and good friends. She enjoyed dancing, an occasional cocktail and good food, and more importantly accompanying her son on trips to Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon parks, to name a few. A guilty pleasure was occasionally venturing off to the casinos to play the “maquinitas.” She even won a couple of jackpots (a couple thousand dollars). She was a school cafeteria worker and her devotion was evident in many years she spent working. She enjoyed her fur baby, Lil' Duke.
Survivors include her husband, Eduardo; a son, Andres Narvaez; three brothers, Rafael Hernandez Jr., Manuel and Ruben D. Hernandez; a sister, Florencia H. Talavera; 11 nephews; nine nieces; and many grand- and great-grandnephews and -nieces.
Novena rosary recited and livestreamed on Facebook daily from May 26 until June 3. Memorial service later.
Angels in Waiting Cremation & Burial in charge of arrangements.
