CASA GRANDE — Michael E. Long, 63, died on May 19, 2019, in Casa Grande.
Mr. Long was born on Sept. 5, 1955, in Casa Grande to Nathan and Betty (Burns) Long. He graduated from Santa Cruz Valley Union High School in 1973. After a life-changing experience where he accepted Jesus Christ into his life, he attended Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He then began his outreach ministry, working as children's pastor for 91st Psalm Ministries in Casa Grande.
Known for his uplifting spirit and fun personality, he had the ability to make everyone laugh. He always had time to chat and was a friend to all. He had a gift with children and could attract a whole neighborhood of kids with one watermelon and his puppet, Willie.
Survivors include his only son, Aaron Long of Topeka, Kansas; a brother, Tommy Long of Arizona City; and a sister, Sharon Long of Casa Grande. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Darlene Long.
