CASA GRANDE — MaryAnn Mayer Schmadeke, 74, of Casa Grande and formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died on Nov. 28, 2019, at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center of complications following surgery, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Schmadeke was born on July 9, 1945, in Chicago and was a daughter of Anthony and Natalie Mayer. She grew up in Waterloo and graduated from Waterloo Columbus High School in 1963. She worked at advertising agencies in Chicago, San Francisco and Waterloo and briefly as a real estate agent in Casa Grande.
Most of her life she battled the effects of multiple sclerosis. She married Gary L. Schmadeke on May 6, 1972, in Waterloo.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Paul Schmadeke of Gilbert; a daughter, Dawn Keith of Washington, Iowa; two sisters, Fran Rausch and Verona Mayer of San Diego; nine grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
Memorial service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel.
