CASA GRANDE — Marciana S. "Marci" Chacon, 86, died on Sept. 25, 2021, in the comfort of her home in Casa Grande with her family by her side.

Mrs. Chacon was born in Austin, Texas, to Santiago Serda and Altagracia Hernandez on Nov. 2, 1934. She was a hard worker from a young age, a devoted Catholic and a loving mother.

She enjoyed listening to Mexican music on her boombox and dancing. She loved spending time with her family and having cookouts. She enjoyed going on car rides and loved making tamales with her family. She also enjoyed her beloved dog, Pedro, who died previously.

Survivors include three daughters, Irma Jimenez, Patsy Palacios and Mary Romero, all of Casa Grande; two sons, Arnold and Gilbert Ramirez of Eloy; three brothers, Jesus and Pete Serda of Eloy and Tony Serda of Phoenix; a sister, Mary Alderete of Tucson; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Joe Ramirez; three sisters, Olga Cevedia, Lupe Tarango and Sylvia Tapia; and her husbands, Gilberto Ramirez and Domingo Chacon.

Visitation beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, with rosary recited at 9:30 and funeral Mass celebrated at 10 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Burial in Mountain View Cemetery, with reception following at J. Warren Memory Gardens.
