CASA GRANDE — Leny Sanders, 92, of Casa Grande died on May 19, 2021, in Chandler.
Mrs. Sanders was born in the Netherlands to Jac and Petronella Van Asten on April 24, 1929. She immigrated to the United States and became a U.S. citizen in 1964. She was married to her husband, John, for 64 years.
She belonged to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church for 15 years and received the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. She was known for her amazing smile and was loving, kind and courageous. She had various careers throughout her life, but her family said she also was the homemaker of all homemakers. She was devoted to her family.
She is survived by her husband; her three sons, Gerald Sanders of Texas, John Sanders of Florida and Robert Sanders of New Jersey; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by nine siblings.
She loved flowers, and always had three vases full of fresh flowers. However, donations are recommended to her favorite charity, St. Joseph’s Indian School in South Dakota (www.stjo.org/).
Visitation beginning at noon on Tuesday, May 25, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, followed by the funeral.
