GILBERT — Judy Rebecca Cantrell, 66, died on May 10, 2021.
Ms. Cantrell was born in Casa Grande on July 8, 1954, and raised in Maricopa. A graduate of Maricopa High School, she was a hardworking, creative person who was a jeweler by trade. She learned how to do watch repair and cast jewelry that she designed.
She enjoyed being involved in her church community, playing piano, knitting, crocheting, gardening and making costumes and clothing from self-made patterns. She also enjoyed travel and being out in nature. Later in life, she attended American Institute of Business & Technology and attained an associate degree in microcomputer network systems. She went on to the University of Phoenix, completing a bachelor's degree in a related field.
She is survived by five adult children, Chris Montiel of Arizona City, Mikki Martinez of Tempe, Elsa Robbins of Casa Grande, Gabriela Montiel of Ashland, Kentucky, and Israel Ortiz of Sacaton; four sisters, Bonita Clearman of Arkansas, Kay Quinn, Vicky Aviles and Bobbie Cantrell, all of Arizona; and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marlin and Bonnie Cantrell, and a sister, Jane Caswell.
Celebration of life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, at Maricopa Assembly of God.
