COOLIDGE — James Reed “Jim” Tyus, 77, of Coolidge died on Feb. 7, 2020, in Mesa.
Mr. Tyus was born to Reed and Emma Tyus on Aug. 12, 1942, in Hugo, Oklahoma. He later had a stepmother, Anne Tyus. He served in the Army and was an air and missile defense crew member. He was a longtime Coolidge resident and owner of Coolidge Cleaners and Thermo Temp Foam Roofing.
He often would be seen on the dance floor, shooting pool or lighting up the room on karaoke night. His infectious laughter could be heard from across the bar.
Survivors include three adult children, Vikki Tyus, William Tyus and Hayley Tyus; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Tyus, and a brother, Gary Connor.
Graveside service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, in Heritage Valley Memorial Park.
