ARIZONA CITY — John "Jack" Briant, 92, died peacefully at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center on Nov. 20, 2019, with family and friends at his side.
Mr. Briant was born on Jan. 22, 1927, in Otter Creek, Montana, the son of Henry and Alma Briant. Raised in the Stacey, Montana, area, he graduated from Powder River County High School in Broadus, Montana. Following high school, he worked as a ranch hand and eventually as a truck driver. On Aug. 31, 1948, her married Geraldine Lucille "Jerry" Hogan in Miles City, Montana. They lived in Miles City, Glendive, Stacey, Ekalaka, Sand Springs and Billings and, in 1992, they retired in Red Lodge, Montana, where they lived until Jerry died in 2010.
After her death, he married Edna Collins of Roberts, Montana. They lived in the Roberts area and wintered in Arizona City happily together for more than eight years. He loved singing and playing his guitar with the High Chaparral RV Park western band. He loved camping and traveling and being a husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of eight years; a sister, Vivian Pierce of Shepherd, Montana; a son, Bradley Briant of Maricopa; a daughter, Deborah Mock of College Station, Texas; three stepchildren, John Collins of Fairfield, Pennsylvania, Penny Redli of Columbus, Montana, and Jenny Still of Roberts, Montana; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation and funeral beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande. Reception following at High Chaparral RV Park, 7575 W. Battaglia Drive in Arizona City.
