SCOTTSDALE — Elisha M. (Joaquin) Anton, 57, died peacefully at home in Salt River on Feb. 5, 2021.
Mrs. Anton was born in Sacaton to Julia and Aloida Joaquin Sr. on June 17, 1963. She was well known as a woman of faith who loved her Lord and family. She was a very loving and caring woman, always willing to help others in any way she could.
She also helped others through her encouraging words and inspirational songs she sang with her sisters, The Joaquin Sisters. She was well protected by her dog, Panther.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin; three stepchildren, Brian Antone of Salt River, Lucille Antone of Lehi and Melva Charles of Sacaton; three sisters, Mary Joaquin and Gloria Paul of Casa Blanca and Rita Howard of Santan; two brothers, Sylvester Joaquin of Casa Blanca and Richard Joaquin Sr. of Ak-Chin; and grandchildren and great-children. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a sister.
