AK-CHIN — Delphine Marie Vasquez, 85, of the Ak-Chin Indian Community and formerly of Stanfield, died on May 18, 2020.
Mrs. Vasquez was born on March 19, 1935, in Ak-Chin Village to John L. Stephens and Amelia I. Andres Stephens. She attended school in Riverside, California.
She loved serving the Lord and was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, doing beadwork, sewing, cooking, watching movies, dancing in her younger years and participating in activities at the Ak-Chin Elder Center. She had many friends and was known for her caring heart and willingness to help others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Catarino; two sons, David and Reynaldo; and two brothers, Herman "Danny" and Barabus. She is survived by a daughter, Elvera; two brothers, Rupert and Johnny Stephens; two sisters, Lillian Shade and Mabel Alvarez; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside service at 6 a.m. on Sunday, May 31, in Ak-Chin Cemetery.
