KENEFIC, Okla. — Daniel Owen "Dan" Trantham, 89, formerly of Stanfield, died at home on April 25, 2022.

Mr. Trantham was born on July 6, 1932, in Hugo, Oklahoma, to Carroll P. and Rose Ella (Gray) Trantham. He married his sweetheart, Wanda Harris, on Feb. 10, 1952, in Nogales, Arizona. They lived in Stanfield for many years and he worked at Stanfield Elementary School from 1965 until retiring in 1992. He was a mechanic and took care of the school's vehicles.

At a young age he participated in rodeos as a bull rider and also riding his horse. He loved animals and taught his grandchildren and great-grandchildren to drive a tractor and bottle-feed calves. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly, in 1977; two brothers, James Floyd and J.W.; four sisters, Dorothy, Esther, Hazel and Betty; and a granddaughter, Veronica Morrow Moreno. He is survived by his loving wife; six sons and daughters, Lynn Trantham of Hominy, Oklahoma, Brenda Kammann of Arizona City, Sandra Morrow of Arizona City, Shiela Garland of Casa Grande, Mike Trantham of Kenefic and Suzie Holmes of Casa Grande; a brother, Willie Joe Trantham of Stanfield; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
