CASA GRANDE — Daniel Lee “Dan” Tallman, 60, died on April 1, 2021, following a two-month battle with lung damage inflicted by pneumonia and the COVID-19 virus.
Mr. Tallman was born on Aug. 23, 1960, in South Bend, Indiana, to Jack and Nancy Tallman. In 1991, his interest in motorcycles prompted a move to Phoenix, where he graduated from the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute. He later worked as a warehouse manager, and after obtaining a commercial driver's license, worked as a local truck driver until his final illness.
He took great pride in his ability to do many things well — he undertook multiple handyman and classic vehicle restoration projects. He was fiercely committed to his family, driven to do his best and to give his all — no matter the task. One of his favorite leisure activities was traveling Arizona’s scenic highways on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
He is survived locally by his wife of 32 years, Leita, and a son, Kenny Tallman. Other surviving family members include his parents; a sister, Sheryl Miller; a brother, David Tallman; three nieces; and a nephew.
His body was donated for medical research. A celebration of his memory will be organized in the future.
