CASA GRANDE — Memorial Mass for Cipriano Conway “Cip” Spoon, 63, celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Mr. Spoon died on Dec. 26, 2019. He was born on Feb. 14, 1956, in Casa Grande and was a son of Leroy Spoon and Maryann Maestas Spoon Murnak. He graduated from Coolidge High School in 1974. In June 2017 he retired from Frito-Lay after 31 years of service and moved to Lexington, South Carolina, to be with his daughter and his grandchildren, who knew him as “Bapa."
He was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved spending his days with his family and friends, golfing or playing softball. Spending time with his daughter watching her soccer games and later watching his grandchildren play in the yard or school events made him smile.
He is survived by his daughter, Amy Middleton of Lexington; a brother, Franklyn “Dino” Spoon; two sisters, Tracie Murnak Berney and Tina Marie Murnak, all of Casa Grande; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Rick Maestas and two infant children, Elizabeth and Andrew Spoon.
