CASA GRANDE — Carmelita Galang Banzali, 67, of Casa Grande died on Dec. 21, 2020.
Ms. Banzali was a daughter of Pablo Banzali Sr. and Anita Galang. She worked at the family store as a child, worked at three embassies as a young woman and became a caregiver when she moved to the United States. Her family moved from Athens, Greece, to Casa Grande in 1998. She worked at Olas Caring Home and then Desert Valley Care Center. A very caring person, she became passionate about opening her own assisted living home, Lita Caring Home, in 2001.
She enjoyed cooking and traveling. A tireless worker, she dedicated her time to taking care of her residents, family and friends. She would make huge meals every holiday and bring gifts every Christmas. Everywhere she went, her warm heart brought people together, creating lifelong friendships. She had friends all over the world. She was a child of God who would read her Bible instead of turning on the TV. She loved to sing and walk her dogs but hated driving. Through her tireless work she survived two aneurysms and breast cancer. She never complained, laughed often and made sure to say "I love you."
Survivors include her husband, Foluso Solaru; a son, Larry Solaru of Casa Grande; and a brother, Pablo Banzali Jr. of the Philippines.
Service will be announced later.
J. Warren Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.
