FLORENCE — Ann Rainsford Brady Padilla, 87, of Oracle and formerly of Florence, died peacefully on Sept. 9, 2021.

Mrs. Padilla was born on Feb. 26, 1934, and was a daughter of William and Vera Brady. She moved from Los Angeles to Florence at age 16 to live with her godmother Margaret and met the love of her life, Gildardo "Paton" Padilla. They married on Oct. 6, 1952, and had six children. 

She was a great-granddaughter of Arizona pioneer and the first elected sheriff of Pima County, Peter Rainsford Brady. She also was a descendant of John William Sweeney, Manuela Salazar Ramirez and Theodore Ramirez of Florence.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years; two brothers, Gerald and William Brady Jr.; two sisters, Vera May Benjamin and Carol Gamino; and three sons, William "Tony," Peter Padilla Jr. and Richard Padilla. She is survived by a son and three daughters, David Padilla, Carol Padilla, Catherine Lutz and Robin Sullivan; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. 

Burial at 3 p.m. on Oct. 23 in Florence Cemetery, with a reception following at LB Cantina in Florence.
