STANFIELD — A 38-year-old Tucson woman died from injuries after being struck by a vehicle while she was walking across State Route 84 in Stanfield, authorities said.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Alicia Marie Ambrose was hit by a vehicle at approximately 7:41 p.m. on Wednesday as she crossed the highway near milepost 165.
A Ford van was traveling east near Stanfield Road. DPS spokesman Trooper Bart Graves said Ambrose was crossing the street in a poorly lit area. The van was traveling through the intersection and struck the pedestrian.
Ambrose was transported by air to Chandler Regional Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
No information was available on the driver.
