Officers block State Route 347 following a major crash in the southbound lanes Friday morning near Riggs Road.

MARICOPA — Multiple drivers managed to make it out of a rollover crash on State Route 347 near Riggs Road unscathed, but one driver was hospitalized.

The wreck happened around 8 a.m. when a pickup truck in the northbound lanes of 347 attempted to change lanes. According to the Department of Public Safety, the pickup truck driver clipped the rear of a vehicle in front of him, causing him to lose control of the truck and veer into the southbound lanes where he struck another truck head on.

The “at-fault” driver’s vehicle rolled and remained upside down on the side of the road following the accident. The driver was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and no other drivers reported needing medical aid.

Both north and southbound lanes were closed for hours while officers were on scene. The area has since been cleared and traffic is moving again.
