MARICOPA — Just before 7 a.m. Sept. 19, a school bus from a Tempe district rear-ended a flat-bed work truck.
The collision occurred on State Route 347 just before its intersection with Smith-Enke Road. The Maricopa Police Department responded to the scene.
MPD Public Information Officer Ricardo Alvarado said traffic was backed up, and the driver of the school bus was distracted, which caused the collision.
There were 59 students on the bus at the time. According to Alvarado, nobody was injured.
