MARICOPA — The talents of many girls and young women were on display Saturday night at Leading Edge Academy as many titleholders from around the region were crowned.
The Maricopa competition not only decided Miss City of Maricopa and Maricopa’s Outstanding Teen, but also the crowns for Valley of the Sun, Gilbert and Grand Canyon titles. The event featured talent performances, interviews by the contestants and fitness routines for the teens.
Miss Arizona Jacqueline Thomas was on hand to crown Madilyn Hipps as the new Miss City of Maricopa, while Diana Harris was named Miss City of Maricopa Outstanding Teen. They take the place of Ashley Lynn and Jiselle Diaz, respectively.
Other winners crowned included Jennifer Westbrook (Miss Valley of the Sun), Vianah Bradt (Miss Valley of the Sun Outstanding Teen), Danielle Skranak (Miss Gilbert), Amber Abeita (Miss Gilbert Outstanding Teen) and Kyra Hobaica (Miss Grand Canyon).
Leading Edge will also host the competition for Miss Pinal County, Miss Estrella Mountains, Miss Ahwatukee and Miss Chandler on Nov. 2.
