Maricopa police closed two streets in the Desert Cedars subdivision in Maricopa as they investigated an incident inside a home.

MARICOPA — Names of the two people found dead in an apparent murder-suicide on Wednesday have been released, according to the Maricopa Police Department.

The suspect is 37-year-old Matthew Padzunas and the victim is listed as 37-year-old Vanessa Palma, according to Ricardo Alvarado, public affairs specialist for the MPD. Alvarado said the two were married.

The incident occurred at a home in Desert Cedars. Desert Cedars Drive and Mescal Street were closed during the investigation. 

On June 5, Padzunas was arrested for disorderly conduct after allegedly throwing water on his wife.

No note was left at the scene. There are no further updates at this time.
