MARICOPA — An arrest was made Wednesday in the drive-by shooting incident in Maricopa that left two teenagers with serious injuries.

At around 1:20 p.m. Wednesday in Casa Grande, Maricopa Police detectives along with the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, the Casa Grande Police Department and the Arizona Department of Public Safety arrested 21-year-old Kalib Rogers in relation to the incident.

According to a Maricopa Police Department press release, around 8:15 p.m. on Monday, a person in a dark-colored Nissan sedan opened fire on three teenage boys. They were standing in the front yard of a residence in the 45000 Block of West Ed Green Lane.

It left two of them with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Rogers was booked into the Pinal County jail, where he awaits arraignment on multiple felony charges.

According to the press release, police believe at this point in the investigation it wasn’t a random event since preliminary evidence suggests at least one victim was known to the suspect.

MPD is closely working with the Pinal County Attorney’s Office to further charges.
