MARICOPA — Two people died in an early morning, single-vehicle crash on State Route 347 Monday.
According to witnesses as told to the Maricopa Police Department, shortly after midnight a vehicle with four occupants traveling north on SR 347 lost control after accelerating near the intersection of Farrell Road.
As a result, the vehicle crashed into a traffic control pole, and the driver and front seat passenger were killed on impact.
The two other passengers were transported by ambulance to Chandler Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Police have not yet identified anybody involved.
