MARICOPA — In order to get a jump start on finding and hiring highly qualified teachers, the Maricopa Unified School District has already begun its recruitment efforts for the 2017-18 school year.

As a result of the passage of the maintenance and operations budget override last month, after six failed times in a row, the district has committed to hiring 50 new teachers and instructional staff members for the next school year.

MUSD officials are asking for support from the community and encouraging all internal and external stakeholders to share the news with family, friends and professional acquaintances or colleagues.

As part of this state and nationwide recruitment effort, the district will be putting on a job fair Jan. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the MUSD Administrative Office Building, 44150 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Hwy.

Administrators and supervisors will be present to discuss opportunities and also to conduct interviews for any and all projected openings within the local public school district.

Interested candidates may access the district’s online application at https://musd20.tedk12.com/hire/index.aspx and complete the appropriate application prior to the Jan. 28 job fair.

More information about MUSD and other career opportunities is available by calling the district at (520) 568-5100 or by visiting its website online at www.maricopausd.org.
