CHAMMP Prevention Coalition
CHAMMP is a coalition aimed at preventing prescription misuse. It was developed to educate older adults and their caregivers about the safe use, storage and disposal of prescription medications, resulting in safer communities for all ages. CHAMMP meets monthly on the third Thursday through June 18, 2020. Its first meeting is set for Thursday, June 20, at 8969 W. McCartney Road in Casa Grande. During the meeting, attendees will start to develop innovative ideas to assist seniors and their caregivers in safe medication management, including opioids. All ages are welcome to attend. CHAMMP welcomes new ideas and information sharing, as this gives the coalition a well-rounded view of what’s happening and ways to meet goals. Legion 100th anniversary
American Legion Post 8 will be celebrating its 100th anniversary on July 31. Post 8 in Casa Grande was named after Fred A. Humphreys, a local World War I soldier killed in France in 1918. He had a brother, Edward, and a sister, Tula, who was the postmaster in 1918 when Fred went into the Army. The group is looking for any information on family that may still be in the area. Please call Commander Donald Graham at 520-431-3838.
