APACHE JUNCTION — Greg Head, 65, was booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center for first-degree premeditated murder early Sunday morning.

According to police records in Apache Junction, a homicide was reported at a residence in the 300 block of East Junction Street at 10:07 p.m. Saturday night. Police received a 911 call from a man who stated that he had just shot his wife and dog.

When the officers arrived on scene they discovered the body of a 66-year-old woman later identified as Patricia Cude. Police arrested Head.

Head remains in the county jail pending the posting of a $250,000 secured bond.

For a first-degree murder conviction, the only possible punishments are the death penalty or natural life in prison.
