FLORENCE — To help students who are trying to learn math at home, Anne Marie Ward is offering online lessons amid her campaign for Congress.

Ward, a business consultant from Prescott, is also a former middle school mathematics teacher in Prescott Valley. She has created a series of math tutorials that will be held at 10:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays each week on her Facebook page, Anne Marie Ward for Congress. She will also post notes on Facebook.

“Feel free to reach out and let us know what specific areas you are needing help with. Together we will get through this!” Ward told viewers on YouTube, where her lesson on dividing mixed numbers may be seen at https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0Xp4nvF2T-c.

Before the onset of COVID-19, Ward spent the majority of her time on the campaign trail. Now she is busy volunteering and helping wherever she’s needed, according to a statement from her campaign.

Ward, R-Prescott, is running in the Aug. 4 primary election against incumbent Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Prescott. The district includes Florence, Apache Junction and San Tan Valley in Pinal County.
