FLORENCE — The Board of Supervisors congratulated the Pinal County Treasurer’s Office for winning the 2021 Arizona Association of Counties Summit Award.
The award was given for the Pinal County property tax mobile app’s design of easy and simple software for the public.
The mobile app won in the Information Technology category for its innovation in providing property tax information and payment options without depending on mailed documentation.
Pinal Treasurer Michael McCord told the board Dec. 1 his office won a similar award last year for its use of technology. He said the awards wouldn’t have been possible without the county’s Information Technology staff and Chief Deputy Treasurer Pat Beckwith coming up with innovative ways to get information to customers and help them pay their taxes.
McCord said he is also fortunate to be elected the president of AACo, the lobbying organization for elected officials other than the Board of Supervisors.
