FLORENCE — An Apache Junction man has been found guilty in Superior Court of 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

The jury didn't take long to convict Michael D. Huntoon, 39, on Nov. 29 of possessing pornographic images of children, some as young as 9 years old, at his home in Apache Junction.

Huntoon was already sentenced this year to 20 years in federal prison for separate offenses committed in Cochise County between 2014 and 2015. In that case, federal prosecutors accused Huntoon of downloading videos depicting children engaging in sexual acts with adults and animals.

Pinal County filed criminal charges against him in 2015 after investigators traced pornographic images of children to a computer found in Huntoon's home.

The defendant told investigators he owned the computer and admitted to looking at pictures of young girls, according to court documents. Huntoon has already served 10 years in state prison for attempting to molest a child in Maricopa County.

The defendant is currently detained at the Pinal County jail. He will be sentenced on Dec. 19.
