FLORENCE — Pinal County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man in connection with the armed robbery of an 84-year-old Oracle man.

Reynaldo S. Martinez, 20, was booked into the Pinal County jail on Saturday on suspicion of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault-entering residence, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony, burglary, child/vulnerable adult abuse, escape, a warrant and failure to appear.

PCSO announced it was looking for Martinez in connection with the Nov. 18 robbery on Friday.

According to PCSO Public Information Officer Lauren Reimer, deputies located Martinez on Nov. 21 hiding in a storage shed off of American Avenue in Oracle. While a deputy was placing him under arrest, Martinez allegedly assaulted the deputy and broke free. Deputies eventually arrested him and then transported him to an area hospital for an evaluation before booking him into the jail.
