PHOENIX — Gov. Doug Ducey has extended the deadline for applications for an interim appointment to fill the position of Pinal County clerk of the Superior Court.
Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, May 29. A copy of the application and instructions for applying can be downloaded at www.bc.azgovernor.gov.
To qualify for appointment, applicants must be eligible to vote, a resident of Pinal County and a registered Republican.
The Governor’s Office will review applications and interview qualified applicants in order for Ducey to make an appointment to fill the vacancy until a clerk can be elected during the election cycle in 2022.

The salary for the clerk is $63,800 under state law.
Republican Amanda Stanford announced she was resigning the position in April.
