MAMMOTH — A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder after a Mammoth man was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

Mammoth Police officers arrested Wesley Saunders, 31, Thursday on suspicion of first-degree murder after Pinal County Sheriff’s Office detectives and Pinal County Regional SWAT members helped remove him from a home on Owens Street in Mammoth, said PCSO spokeswoman Lauren Reimer.

PCSO detectives received a call for assistance with a possible homicide from Mammoth Police around 11:45 a.m. on March 25 on North San Manuel Drive. Officers found Dylan Price, 29, dead from a gunshot wound to the head, Reimer said.

Several people with knowledge of the incident identified Saunders as the killer, Reimer said. Saunders left the home after the shooting.

Officers located Saunders that evening at a home on Owens Street in Mammoth, she said. He was taken from the home with the help of the SWAT team and taken into custody.
