APACHE JUNCTION – It took about 10 minutes for someone to identify a man accused of groping a woman in the parking lot of a grocery store after Apache Junction Police posted a photo to social media.

The man was identified by Apache Junction Police as Juan Barrelleza, 20, from Apache Junction. He was booked into the Pinal County Detention Center on suspicion of sexual abuse and assault and is being held on a $25,000 secured bond.

The department received a report around 9 a.m. on Feb. 18, of a woman who was attacked and groped by a man, later identified as Barrelleza, in the parking lot of a grocery store in the 100 block of East Old West Highway. Police were provided with surveillance video from inside and outside of the store shortly after they arrived.

At least two witnesses described seeing the man flee the parking lot in a dark colored SUV or crossover-type vehicle.

Police are thanking the public for its help in identifying Barrelleza and are asking that if anyone has had a similar experience with him to contact the department at (480) 982-8260.
