APACHE JUNCTION — An Apache Junction man is being held without bond after he allegedly set fire to a family member’s home.

Honour Moore, 19, was arrested on Monday on suspicion of arson of an occupied structure and endangerment.

Apache Junction Police responded to a mobile home fire around 9:15 a.m. on May 3 in the 2200 block of North Ironwood Drive, stated Apache Junction Police spokesman Cpl. Marshall Harshman in a press release.

When officers arrived they found the home fully engulfed in flame, he said. The two people living in the home were able to escape but were injured in the process. One person was transported to a hospital for burns. The family’s pet died in the fire.

Fire investigators found that an accelerant was intentionally used to start the fire. Witnesses allegedly reported seeing Moore running from the home, shouting “incriminating statements,” Harshman said.

Moore was questioned by detectives and booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center.
