APACHE JUNCTION — An Apache Junction man is facing charges after he allegedly broke into a home and used a deceased woman’s credit cards.

According to Pinal County Superior Court records, Nicholas W. Tipton, 28, is charged with theft of credit cards, taking the identity of another and trespassing.

Apache Junction Police officers were called out at 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 14 to a home in the 1400 block of East Southern Avenue. Officers found that Tipton had allegedly entered the home through a sliding glass door, taken several credit cards from the deceased woman’s home and used them over the course of five days to withdraw more than $1,000 from her bank account and charge $200 for a hotel room.

Tipton allegedly told officers that he had used all but $151 of the money he withdrew from the bank.

Officers noted that Tipton had trespassed on the property before.
