MARANA — State troopers are investigating a fatal collision that closed westbound lanes of Interstate 10 in southern Pinal County.
The Department of Public Safety said the collision occurred about 2 p.m. at milepost 230 between the Pinal Airpark Road interchange and the Red Rock interchange.
DPS closed westbound I-10 in Marana at Tangerine Road, diverting traffic onto the old Casa Grande Highway.
About 30 minutes after the first collision, the Arizona Department of Transportation said another crash occurred just north of Tangerine Road. The freeway was closed for more than five hours as crews attended to both accidents.
At least one person was killed, DPS said, but further details were not available.
