ELOY — A Facebook-based anti-child predator organization was able to lure another suspect to an Eloy truck stop intent on meeting up with a 13-year-old girl for sex, police said.
Eduardo Juarez De La Cruz was arrested at Petro Truck Stop, 5235 S. Sunland Gin Road in Eloy, at 10:15 a.m. Friday for luring a minor for sexual exploitation and attempted sexual contact with a minor, the Eloy Police Department said in a release.
The arrest was the result of the Facebook-based anti-child predator organization Truckers Against Predators, which posted a profile on a dating app. Police said De La Cruz responded to the profile and began chatting with a decoy whom he believed was a 13-year-old girl.
"During the text conversation Mr. De La Cruz made arrangements to meet with the 13-year-old decoy with the intention of having sex," Eloy Police said. "The decoy provided him with an address to Petro where he could meet her. "
Once the suspect arrived, he was confronted by a member of TAP and shortly thereafter the TAP member notified the Eloy Police Department.
After an investigation by Eloy Police, De La Cruz was taken into custody and booked into the Pinal County jail.
On Wednesday morning, shortly after midnight, Brian Keith Hill Jr. was arrested at Petro Truck Stop after he too was lured to the area by a TAP decoy.
